Clinical Scenarios Udder Health: Addressing high cell counts
In this first of three online sessions covering udder health at herd level, delegates will review a structured approach to understanding increases in the prevalence of mastitis infection in dairy herds and common interventions that are likely to reduce risk of infection. Three real herd examples will show case the importance of the data analysis to link pattern of infection to which recommendations are likely to be appropriate on farm. Time for Q&A will be given throughout the session and again at the end.

James Breen
Recognised Specialist in Cattle Health & Production Veterinary Surgeon
James qualified as a veterinary surgeon from the University of Bristol in 1998 and after a period in mixed practice returned to Bristol in 2001 to take up a residency in Farm Animal Medicine. He later joined Prof Andrew Bradley and Prof Martin Green on a national dairy cow mastitis research project and was involved in the development of the national AHDB Mastitis Control Plan.
He subsequently completed a three-year RCVS Trust residency in Production Animal Medicine, dividing his time between dairy practice in Glastonbury, teaching, research and laboratory consultancy work with QMMS Ltd in Somerset.
