LHS 2014 Reducing lameness through timed functional and therapeutic hoof trimming

Lameness affects the bottom line of many dairy farms throughout the world. Dairy producer deal with reduced productivity, cows staying lame and premature culling. Today's better understanding of the causes and prevention of lameness suggests a timed integrated approach. This session will discuss how to advance hoof health through prevention. The importance of implementing an "Action Plan" on your dairy which includes; timed trimming, correct functional and therapeutic hoof trimming and early detection and prompt treatment of lameness.
